The weaves from Majuli is a type of traditional handloom weaving technique by the Mishing community, who are an ethnic group inhabiting this river island formed by Brahmaputra in Assam, India. Apart from the Mishing people’s love for the river, their enduring love for weaving is reflected in the nature-inspired and intricate geometric designs woven beautifully into the fabric.
