Chanderis are woven in the town of Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh and are often referred to as ‘woven air’ owing to its lightness and finesse. Sarees made from chanderi fabric are set apart by their lightweight and glossy texture which is starkly different from other woven fabrics of the country. The fabric is often adorned with intricate designs and patterns, featuring motifs inspired by nature, such as flowers, leaves, and birds.
